On the basis of cinema faculty that was founded in 1972, the department of cameraman was opened. In the beginning of eightys distinguished Georgian director of photography Levan Paatashvili was teaching there. The great job with students was also carried out by Alexander Mgebrishvili

During the first two years future cameraman are carefully studying theoretical and practical photography. Graduating students of cameraman department are successfully working in cinema and television.
