Was born in 1956. He started taking up photography in Tbilisi Palace of Pioneers in the class of Yuri Lukashvili.

Graduated from the faculty of Journalism of Tbilisi University. From 1980 to 1990 worked in "Gruzinform". Since 1992 was a reporter of Associated Press in Transcaucasia.

Constantly collaborating in Tbilisi newspaper on Azerbaijanian language "Gurjistan".
